Liposuction
Liposuction is a minimally invasive surgery that contours various body parts by reducing excess fat in these areas. Liposuction is performed via small incisions that are placed in inconspicuous locations.
Liposuction is a great tool to address areas of relative excess adipose tissue. It is not meant to be a weight loss replacement. The best candidate is a patient who is near their ideal weight but despite that still finds they appreciate areas of contour concerns.
Liposuction also does not specifically address any associated skin laxity issues. If someone is starting off with some degree of skin laxity, it is likely that additional volume removal would exacerbate the appearance of loose skin.
What are the postoperative restrictions for liposuction?
- Showering is okay; do not soak in water for 2 weeks
- No strenuous activity x 2 weeks
- Wear compression garment for 3-6 weeks
BodyTite & Body Morpheus with Liposuction
For those patients that have concerns for skin laxity and are still wanting to pursue a minimally invasive approach, adding radiofrequency energy to induce soft tissue contraction in the form of BodyTite and Body Morpheus can be a helpful option.
Areas commonly addressed by liposuction include the following:
- Abdomen
- Love Handles
- Thighs
- Upper Back
- Midback
- Submentum and Neck
- Arms
- Knees
- Chest
- Ankles and Calves
- Bra Rolls
